Traction
Battle of the Bands SF 2011
by Traction
We are proud to announce that Cracktion—the current iteration of the Traction house band—will be causing some sonic mayhem at this years Battle of the Bands hosted by the good peeps over at sfBIG.
Once ever year, shadow groups of San Francisco advertising and interactive people come together to watch their peers duke it out in a musical throw down of epic proportions. That time is almost upon us.
This legendary showdown is happening August 10th at the Great American Music hall at 8:00pm. Here is the line-up:
Lovebutter (Universal McCann) - The returning champs from last year. While they have two female singers and a violin player going for them, we don't believe their indie charm has what it takes to keep the title belt.
Rich Media and the Expandable Units (AKQA) - Little is known about these new comers other than their cute and contextually relevant band name. They may be a dark horse to watch.
Cracktion (Traction) - The full name of the band was: Sir Cracktion Tippy-toes and the Crows-nest, but the band couldn't fit that on t-shirt so they cut it down. Needless to say we think they will be a formidable opponent.
Rainbow Brite & Flaming Cobra Death Skulls (Adify/AKQA) - Last year's runner up. With a Pat Benatar look-a-like lead singer, back-up dancers and more spinal tap wigs then you can shake a stick at—they may be more gimmicks than talent.
This Event had already sold out, but more tickets were just released. So act fast or you may not be able to watch Cracktion dismantle the competition.
