Here at Traction we love good food, good drink and good competition; hence our quarterly Traction Cook Offs. On Friday, June 1st our resident foodies competed in a pairing of grilled sliders and cocktails. Check out our Flickr photostream for a great set of pictures from the event.
With four teams competing, the event ended in a tie between MMaximum's ahi tuna slider with mango/jalapeno cocktail and Dev Delicious' mushroom blue cheese slider with Manhattans and ginger mojitos. Eventually we'll stage a tie breaking competition - something complicated and dastardly and delicious - to really challenge their foodie/mixologist skills. We figure this will be a win/win situation for everyone involved.
We did learn some lessons from this Cook Off -Traction really likes ahi tuna and is really skeptical about cocktails involving Coors Light. The Dev Team makes a mean cocktail but they drink more than they serve. The spicier the cocktail/slider the better. Contrary to popular belief, our previous Grand Champion Brandon Herrera is not infallible. Melanie Kaufman might be our new rising foodie star.
