Traction on LinkedIn Companies

Traction on LinkedIn Companies

Traction has just launched our new LinkedIn Companies page. As I've said before, I think the new LinkedIn Companies feature will become as important as having a website or a Facebook is now—especially if you're in the business to business space.

While it's certainly no Facebook, LinkedIn has 90 million members, 21.4 million monthly US visitors and another 47 million monthly visitors globally. If you're a professional and you're on LinkedIn.

The new LinkedIn Companies is a few steps short of awesome, but for the 1st time it's become a viable marketing tool that brands should be paying attention to. Most of what's new and cool is centered around the Products & Services section. Here are some of the things you can do with it:

  • List and describe your products and services. You'll want to be strategic about what and how many products and services you'll offer because you have the opportunity to add videos and solicit testimonials for each of them. For instance, Traction could have drilled down into all of the various services we offer (print advertising, television advertising, online advertising, websites, mobile apps, Facebook apps, brand positioning, brand identity, research, user testing, etc., etc., etc.), but we chose to focus on our three core competencies (Strategy, Advertising and Innovation) instead and list tactical elements of those products within our descriptions.
  • Promote different products & services to different target audiences. This will probably be the most powerful, yet under-utilized feature on LinkedIn Companies, but if you really know your customers and what matters to them, you can really do a lot to start a relevant dialogue with them.
  • Get recommendations from clients and partners for each of the services you offer.
  • Initiate highly targeted direct response campaigns.

Check our Companies page out here and let us know what you think. Maybe you can even leave a recommendation if you're so inclined.
