Adam gets eaten by a cyborg bear
by Kellie Okai
At Traction we believe that "everything is interactive." Taking that to heart, the creative team had some old-school interactive fun, inspired by Adam Kleinberg's SXSW presentation: "7 reasons why your employees hate you." Pretending that our boss was an evil tyrant, we xeroxed photos of Adam and took turns defacing enhancing them with a variety of mediums such as ink, pencil, and collage. Imaginary retribution never felt this good.
Battledecks I: Bloodsport
by Kellie Okai
On Thursday February 17th, 2011 at 14:30 hours, Traction hosted its very own Battledecks competition. (Part of our Learning Phase series.) For luddites unfamiliar with the game made popular at SXSW, "Battledecks is a fast-paced blood sport involving Keynote slides the contestants have never seen before. Each contestant has to get through the most devastating, despair-ridden, filthy slides ever projected within a confined space."* Sounds fun, right?
Traction's glass is always half full
by Kellie Okai
It's a known fact. Traction loves beer.
We own a kegerator with two selections on tap. We regularly celebrate beer o' clock. And the team itself has many connoisseurs as well as a brewer who won the Sierra Nevada Beer Camp competition. That is why a request to design Traction branded pint glasses not only made sense, but was long overdue.
Imaginary inventions
by Kellie Okai
Change is good. Inventions are better. But made-up inventions are the sweet, delicious nectar of life. Who hasn’t dreamed up a more convenient way to do what you love doing? But while some of us are just starting roundabout conversations with "I wish", others are planning and plotting inventions of the nefariously absurd variety. With amusing results.
