Traction named Best Independent Agency!

We are thrilled to announce that last night, Traction was named Independent Agency of the Year at the 2014 iMedia Agency Awards.

Traction was actually a finalist in four categories this year in iMedia's competition for the best agencies in the United States—Independent Agency of the Year, Small Agency of the Year, Best Agency for Video and Marketer of the Year (that was for me). We were a finalist in more categories than any other agency! Over 5,000 members of our industry voted to crown the winners of this year's awards.

This was also the second year in a row we were a finalist—last year for Best Small Agency. But last year, we didn't come home with a statue.

Adam acceptance speech

We were up against some great other agencies. The overall Agency of the Year award went to Huge Inc. winners in the other three categories we were a runner-up for include standout shops 360i (Marketer of the Year), Piston (Small Agency) and Sparkhouse (Best Video). Congrats to all of those guys and all of the other great shops that were finalists!

It's a huge honor to be given this award. We are proud to be an independent agency—we'd go so far as to call ourselves a fiercely independent shop—because it gives us freedom. That freedom allows us to make decisions because we think they are right, not because they ensure we "hit out numbers" for some holding company overlords.

I'm so proud of the team at Traction. This award is a reflection of their hard work and passionate drive to create great work. I'm also grateful for our great clients who are our partners in pursuit of bringing ideas to life. Coming on the heels of winning silver for Ad Age Small Agency of the Year on the West Coast in 2013, we are really excited and look forward to big things in 2015!
